There's a real difference and you feel it the moment your dog shakes off after a swim or has a stress accident. The Apex Hammock has a built in PVC layer that liquid can't penetrate. What goes on the cover stays on the cover.

A stable floor, not a fabric sling

Most hammocks are exactly that - a sling. Your dog stands in a bowl, bracing the whole drive. The Apex Hammock uses a anti-slip anchor bottom that creates a stable platform across the full back seat. No dipping, no sagging, no "hammock bowl."

Door protection that actually stays connected

The side panels attach above the windows with clips and zip securely into place, so they stay where you put them instead of sliding down the door. Clip in, zip up, done. Your door panels stay covered for the whole drive.

The mesh window changes everything

Clip to the front headrests!

Loop the two upper straps over your front headrests and press the quick-release buckles into place. This is the anchor point that holds everything else in position.

Tuck and secure the seat anchor!

Feed the seat anchor strap through the gap between the seat cushion and the backrest. This is what keeps the hammock pulled tight and the base flat, also the step that separates a cover that stays put from one that bunches up. Takes five seconds.

Clip the side panels!

Fold out the two side panels and clip them into position above the rear windows. Zip the edges secure. Both door panels are now covered from top to bottom. Your dog has a fully enclosed, stable space — and your car has full protection from seat to door.

The questions worth asking before you buy.

Will this actually stay in place, or will it bunch up like every other cover I've tried?

It stays. The seat anchor strap feeds through the gap between the seat cushion and backrest — that's what keeps the base flat and the cover in position for the entire drive. Combined with the quick-release buckles on the front headrests and the clipped side panels, there's nothing left to slide. The anchor system is there specifically because "bunching up mid drive" is the number one complaint about every cover on the market.

Is it actually waterproof or is that just marketing?

Actually waterproof. Beneath the 600D Oxford fabric surface sits a built-in PVC layer that stops liquid from going any further. It doesn't absorb slowly, it doesn't soak through over time. The PVC barrier contains everything within the hammock before it ever reaches your seat. The Oxford cloth on top handles the wear and the washing. The PVC underneath handles the waterproofing. Two layers, one job done properly.

My dog is a large breed, will the base sag in the middle?

The base does have a natural hammock curve rather than a completely flat rigid floor. For most large breeds including Labradors, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherds that's not an issue — they settle into a stable, supported position and stay there for the whole drive.

How long does it take to install?

Under 60 seconds once you've done it once. Clip the upper straps to the front headrests, feed the seat anchor through the seat gap, clip and zip the side panels above the rear windows. The first time takes about three minutes while you get familiar with the system. It removes just as fast — which matters when you need the back seat for people again.

Does the dog seat belt work with the hammock?

Yes — and it was designed to. The Apex Hammock has a dedicated seat belt pass-through opening so the belt clips cleanly through the cover to your dog's harness. You don't have to choose between protection and safety. Both work together from the first drive.

What if it doesn't work for my car or my dog?

You have 14 days from the day it arrives to decide. If it's not the right fit, for any reason, email us at support@kithpaws.com and we'll sort it out. We'd rather you trust this brand long term than win a single transaction. If there's a fault with the product we cover the return shipping and send a replacement. How do I clean it after a muddy trail?

Three options depending on the mess. Quick wipe: damp cloth on the surface, two minutes in the driveway. Medium mess: unclip it, hose it down, hang to dry. Full reset: cold wash, gentle cycle, air dry. The fabric doesn't hold odour the way cheaper materials do. So you won't be fighting last weekend's beach trip every time you open the car door.

Will it fit my car?

The Apex Hammock fits the vast majority of standard back seats. SUVs, sedans, and crew-cab trucks including bench and 60/40 split configurations.
